Trader Joe's Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef comes from cattle raised without the use of artificial growth hormones, on the vast, lush pasturelands of New Zealand. The cattle are 100% grass fed, grazing on wide-open pastures – their diet of natural greens contributes to richly-flavored, well-marbled beef. Raising cattle this way is more expensive than conventional methods, so grass fed meat tends to be more costly than conventionally raised beef. At Trader Joe's, though, our Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef represents an excellent value, at $5.99 for a one pound package.
This particular Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef is labeled 85/15 – this refers to the ratio of lean to fat, meaning that it's 85% lean. And what exactly does that mean? It means it's incredibly flavorful, no matter how you cook it. It makes bodacious burgers, moist & juicy meatloaf, championship chili, mighty meatballs and terrifically tasty tacos, to name just a few possibilities. We wouldn’t think of trying to stifle your creativity, though. Please feel free to use Trader Joe’s Grass Fed Angus Ground Beef any way you choose – as long as you enjoy it, we approve. We're quite certain you’ll approve of our price of $5.99 for a one pound package. You'll find it in our freezers.
